Survival

While it’s absolutely free to tune into us at any time you want (and you can even listen to any program at any time thanks to our website), it costs about $15,000 a week to run the station. And, as well as those expenses, we have to budget for things like upgrades to broadcast equipment, transmission upgrades to ensure uninterrupted broadcast from our transmission site, and preparations for the introduction of digital radio.

Now, RTRFM is a not-for-profit, community organisation with a mission to provide an alternative to mainstream radio stations without a commercial agenda. So, we rely on you to help keep alternative music, local arts, the environment, indigenous issues and much more on the air.

You can do that by becoming a subscriber. Your subscription fee provides the money that directly keeps RTRFM on-air. And, in return, you not only get to help keep the station going, but you also get a host of rewards such as entry to on-air giveaways and competitions, discounted or free entry into RTRFM events, Off Your Dial e-news, and discounts at RTRFM-friendly retail outlets including record stores, cinemas, theatres, gigs, pubs and more.

You can join the RTRFM family, or just find out more, by heading to our Subscribe page.

Another way for the community to help keep RTRFM is for businesses to sponsor the station. You can find out more about that on our Sponsorship page.

And, you can also support the station by making a tax deductible donation to RTRFM by going to our Shop page.

It is the subscribers and sponsors of RTRFM who keep the airwaves alive. For that reason, it is their station as much as it is the volunteers. So, if you are one, thankyou, and if you aren’t, please do come on board.
