	<title>Call For Dental Reform </title>

	<description><![CDATA[	<p>A report on the state of dental care in Australia says oral disease is on the rise and that the cost of seeing a dentist is too high.</p>

	<p>As a result, our teeth problems are getting worse.</p>

	<p>The Federal Government’s looking into a Denticare system that, like Medicare, will subsidies some of the costs incurred in the dentist’s chair.</p>

	<p>It’s looking at a new report that says ten billion dollars is needed to fix our teeth.</p>

	<p>Federal Health Minister Tanya Plibesek says the government can’t afford to adopt all the suggested changes at once, but she’s considering a staged approach that would target children and low-income groups first.</p>

	<p>Greens Senator for Victoria Richard Di Natale says that’s a good start but it’s not enough, and he’ll be pushing for more.</p>

	<p>The dramatic rise of potentially life-threatening food allergies in very young children means that everyone needs to be aware and know what to do.</p>

	<p>A Perth paediatrician and scientist is at the forefront of thinking on this matter, and she’s shedding light on the allergy epidemic at <span class="caps">UWA</span> this February.</p>

	<p>Winthrop Professor and Paediatric Allergist and Immunologist Susan Prescott explains the issue with Joe Cassidy.</p>

	<p>The range and severity of Autism Spectrum Disorder can vary widely from severe impairments and disability to much milder difficulties – and more research is needed.</p>

	<p>It affects about every one in 100 people around the world, and with the incidence increasing, researchers have been working towards early detection and intervention from birth.</p>

	<p><span class="caps">UWA</span> School of Psychology Associate Professor Andrew Whitehouse speaks out about the issue and his involvement in the group investigating autism.</p>

	<p>National mental health charity, <span class="caps">SANE</span> Australia, has found that one in every two hundred of us will be affected by a psychotic illness each year.</p>

	<p>It’s &#8216;People Living with Psychotic Illness&#8217; 2010 study also found  a growing gap between the physical and mental wellbeing of those with a psychotic illness. Almost half are obese and just over half have problems with alcohol and drug abuse.</p>
