In the Pines is back in UWA’s Somerville Auditorium with another killer collection of local bands – we’re locked in for Sunday April 22 – but who’s the final lot playing?

We’ll learn about some of them with RTRFM’s Music Director Adam Trainer.

BOFO Director Dave Cutbush joined Peter Barr for Breakfast.

They’ve been away far and wide – touring the globe and recording their new album.

It’s called Red Alert and was recorded in the mountains high above Madrid.

They’re back in P Town with the new album just in time for the run towards Summer and they joined Pete on Brekkie…

Adam James and Greg Sanders from the local band joined Peter Barr on Breakfast ahead of their single launch.

The project they’ve been working on is a functional sculpture, made to house birds.

The artists have also been busy getting involved in the community down there –finding out about local wildlife, the history of the area, and helping local high school students in the Ornitarium project.

Artist Richard Saxton joined Rhian on the phone to tell us about it.

The Youngblood crew had a chat with The Joe Kings ahead of RTRFM’s idea of winter warming, The Fremantle Winter Music Festival!

Overwhelmed with a feeling of musical generosity, all four members of the band formerly known as DivCraft descended on the studio to get the hoedown started. Yee-hah!

And what happened to their drummer? The mystery continues. But they’re looking for a new one…

He susses stuff out then sings about it but this time, with a twist!

This time Sabian sang someone else’s song ahead of his appearance at an evening in which local musicians covered other musicians’ songs.

Armed with such a useful and mad party trick, he’s putting it to good use and going back to the future to see his future self.

Is the future so bright, he’s gotta wear shades, or does he really need to act fast now to achieve his dreams?

At a particular point in time and space, Zack joined Peter Barr on Breakfast to go back to the future.

Former Sex Panther Hayley Beth sang her song ‘El Capitan’ to get us in the mood for music at Mojos.

And, they took some time out from their busy touring to join us ahead of their single launch on Friday 12 October for This Is Not A Revolution.

They brought in their guitars to give us a live in-studio version of their tune Judy.

One of the most critically-acclaimed local acts of recent times helped us do exactly that. And, Institut Polaire have been busy after the release of their Fauna and the Flora EP. BUt they made time to join us on Breakfast with Barr to talk about what they’ve been up to recently, with Cath Colvin on the phone and the rest of the group in Studio B.

They struck up an old favourite of theirs Mama Naku, as well as some tunes from their EP, including last year’s WAM Song of the Year City Walls and Empires, Kentucky Society Drought, and East, West & I.
