	<description><![CDATA[	<p>The City of Fremantle wants cyclists to be able to ride without helmets – a move that’s angered safety experts.</p>

	<p>During the two-year trial, helmets would be optional for adults cycling on separate cycle ways, dual-use paths and roads. Riders 18 years old will still have to wear a helmet.</p>

	<p>The call comes after an international cycling expert claimed the number of cyclists in WA would treble if helmets weren’t compulsory.</p>

	<p>But Cycling WA <span class="caps">CEO</span> Garry Chandler believes the law should stay put, saying that European roads differ greatly from those in WA.</p>
