How did you become involved with the station and your program?

I was asked by then station manager Dan Stinton if I might be interested in turning my passion for ‘post-rock-ish’ sounds into a weekly, late-night radio show… After doing the graveyard shifts of Music Mix for an extended period, that was an offer too good to refuse!

How long have you been with RTRFM?

I’ve been doing the Posted program for just over a year now, but did Music Mix for at least a year before that.

What do you enjoy most about presenting?

Being able to play tunes that I love, and that I don’t hear on any other RTR-FM show… Admittedly, Difficult Listening might also be covering some of the more abstract sounds I squeeze into the vague generic category of ‘post-rock-ish’ music, but I always forget it’s on… The BEST bit, though, is when people ring in and tell you much they loved a particular tune (or a whole show if I’m lucky!); that makes it all worthwhile…

Strangest experience at RTRFM?

The night a guy rang up to tell me that he’d lost track of time while listening to Posted in a friend’s loo… apparently he’d found the show on a toilet-roll-holder radio (every home should have one) and ended up sitting on the throne much longer than he’d planned… I think that was a compliment, right?

What do you do in real life?

I try to manage the madness, and the control the temptation, that comes from being surrounded by 300-or-so of the world’s best BEERS!
