How did you become involved (with the station and your program/s)?

My radio ancestry goes back to the sounds of T Ski Valley and hanging with the Catch the Beat and Curtis J Brown on 6NR. I first hooked up with RTR (or should I say 6UVS!) back in the day via Black and Blue and Chris Wrighteous One and my first show was Round Midnight on Thursday nights with DJ Riccardo Montalban.

How long have you been with RTRFM?

I think we are talking ’80s… no couldn’t be… yes… since I used to lug my indie crate up the stairs and do warm up sets for Rhys Evans at The Firm.

What do you enjoy most about presenting?

I have always been more into the ‘set’ than the ‘song’ so if I get a two-hour solo spot that is love but then I also quite enjoy a funk 45s battle on Soulsides with three DJs shuffling around behind the decks.

Strangest experience at RTRFM?

As a show coordinator you always sweat it over presenter no-shows but I remember the night that due to a roster mix up General Justice, the whole Pete Carroll Posse and the JazzFunkSoulShop DJs all turned up at the same time to do a Soulsides – now that is love. I also miss the Genge Executive Briefings at the start of each AGM. I always learnt something from those.

Favourite RTRFM program/s?

Underground Solution and the folk/glitch/psych/post rock show they do not have yet!
