How did you become involved?

I had been listening to RTR for a number of years and thought I might be able to have a crack myself. So, a mate told me about the [broadcasting] course and hey presto!

How long have you been with RTRFM?

Since 2004.

What do you enjoy most about presenting?

I like to think that someone in radioland might be enjoying what I’m playing. That gives me a bit of a kick. I get a huge buzz out of playing the stuff that makes me tick (even at 4am- Music Mix and especially Soulsides).

Strangest experience at RTRFM?

The first show I ever did was Music Mix from 3-6am. The previous presenter told the listeners it was my first time etc. Within the first ten minutes of the show a young lady phoned in and said “You don’t have to feel alone, I’ll be with you”. With me being in the station for the first time, I nearly shit myself. I thought I had my own stalker. Alas, that was not the case.

What do you do in real life?

I am a self-employed painter and decorator.
