Q & A

How did you become involved with the station and your program?
I first reported for Morning Magazine in November 2005 upon encouragement from then Morning Magazine producer Anita Walker. I began co-presenting and co-producing Indymedia in August 2006. I was working for The Perth Voice newspaper at the time and was invited by the Indymedia Collective to join the program during the protests around the Israel-Lebanon war of June-July that year.

How long have you been with RTRFM?
Since November 2005.

What do you enjoy most about presenting?
Thinking laterally and critically about the major issues of our times, providing analysis in depth, bringing news and views from around the world to listeners, meeting and interviewing engaging and accomplished people, conducting interesting research and, of course, the adrenalin of live radio.

Strangest experience at RTRFM?
Also the best experience – interviewing veteran US consumer advocate and political activist Ralph Nader at 3am after pursuing the interview for six weeks during Nader’s 2008 Presidential campaign.

Favourite RTRFM program/s?
Bordak Bordak Ngalla, Understorey, Drastic On Plastic, Spoonful of Blues, Soulsides, Rock Rattle and Roll, Critical Mass, Woodstock Rock, Distant Murmurs (RIP), News From Nowhere (RIP), All Things Queer, Burning Down The House, Morning Magazine, Breakfast with Barr.

What do you do in real life?
I am a freelance reporter and press secretary, sometime photographer, writer, student of history, band manager, offspinner and fanatical devotee of Swan Districts Football Club.
