Jessica McCallum
Jess McCallum began presenting at RTRfm on Youngblood, but now presents Perth’s number one metal show Critical Mass with Brenton Pedler and Jo Wallis.
She also assistant produces Morning Magazine with Peter Barr once a week, helps write and present the news during Breakfast with Barr and has made a short documentary for RTRfm.
Jess graduated top of her class from The University of Notre Dame Australia in 2009, receiving the award for Highest Academic Performance in (Bachelor) Communications and Media and has recently finished a Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies) (Honours) at UWA.

Q & A
How did you become involved with the station and your program?
I became involved with the station after doing some presenting on another radio station. I loved it so much I decided to do something for a community station – RTRfm! I began presenting on Youngblood through Ryan Sandilands, who suggested I present on the show with him! :o)
How long have you been with RTRFM?
April 2009!
What do you enjoy most about presenting?
Sharing my music taste with others and learning about other music. Everything about presenting is fun, I can’t put enough exclamation marks here to show how much I love it!!! I also love making pre-records and conducting interviews with interesting people!
Strangest experience at RTRFM?
When someone let a homeless man into the station during Radiothon 2009.
Favorite RTRFM programs?
Critical Mass, Burn the Airwaves and Behind the Mirror. I love listening to the ever-evolving world of metal… I also have grown a liking to Breakfast with Barr if I am ever up that early!
