Sigari Luckwell

Sigari was born in London, and lived in Europe and Melbourne before coming to Perth at 16. She has worked as a strawberry picker, salesgirl for make up, waitress, fruit and vegetable seller, motor cycle courier girl and photographic model before stumbling into clinical psychology. She has worked in far too many government agencies. In the 1980’s a personal revolution catapulted her into the alternative therapy movement where she worked in rebirthing, dance therapy and meditation. Sigari now lives and works in Bunbury in the South West; she has two grown up children, Holly and Dosh, and lives with her partner, Tony on half an acre of bush in town.

Q & A

*How did you become involved? *
Full Circle advertised for a new presenter. I auditioned as it appealed as a way of exploring different aspects and paths of consciousness with many people. I thought the idea of the program, Full Circle was fantastic and also thought it would be a challenge to try something completely new.

How long have you been with RTRFM?
Not long. I did the recent training in July and August this year (2009) and had my first show last Sunday (October 11th)

What do you enjoy most about presenting?
Creating the show; listening to music and getting a feel for the space it creates and how it relates to a theme: also reaching people and meeting others connected with both the show and the radio station.

Strangest experience at RTRFM?
Having CD player no. 2 crash halfway through my first show: that really threw me. It put my script out of whack and a challenge to learning something new, fast.

Favourite RTRFM programs?
Full Circle, Drivetime and Rocking the Roots.

What do you do in real life?
Work, feed the wild birds, wander in the garden, ride my bike a lot, sing; sometimes paint and do sudoku. I like to laugh with others and enjoy creating light sculptures. Visit my kids and father and friends and travel.
