How did you become involved with the station and your program?

As a regular listener I responded to an on-program request from George Black for guest presenters. I was pleased to be selected and then had a difficult time in fitting all my ‘favourites” into the half hour allocated. I assisted with a number of Radiothons and was very pleased to accept the invitation for a regular on the Nostalgia roster last April.

How long have you been with RTRFM?

Since the beginning of 2007.

What do you enjoy most about presenting?

The phone calls that confirm there is someone out there listening.

Strangest experience at RTRFM?

Rushing in to the studio on a bitterly cold winter morning in an open car when I thought that I was on duty and late.

Saying “bugger” when the mike was open and I had made a snafu and then waiting for the phone call. It did not come and I was assured by a careful listener that it did not come over the air thanks no doubt to a loud introduction to Woody Herman’s Golden Wedding!

Nostalgia, of course, and Organ Music

What do you do in real life?

Try to build train lines. Someone has surely noticed my predeliction to play a train song at the slightest opportunity!
