Sarah Delfante

Sarah Delfante has always found it difficult to string a tune together, which is why she decided to get on RTRFM and play other people’s music instead.

Sarah hosts RTRFM’s Drivetime program, and has a unique ability to go from instrumental hip-hop to wailing punk rock in just two songs, while still providing the perfect soundtrack for your drive home.

She has been involved with the station since 1999, hosting a wide range of programs including Bigstar, Drastic on Plastic and Out to Lunch. Catch her every Tuesday from 5pm.

Q & A

How did you become involved with the station and your program?

I volunteered to answer phones and file CDs at RTR whilst studying at uni. I’d had some experience presenting community radio at a smaller station but wanted to get involved somewhere more closely aligned with my tastes. I took the RTR training course and presented a couple of graveyard shifts before landing Friday Out To Lunch. Unfortunately full time work eventually took over my life but luckily I managed to continue my RTR indulgence by shifting to Drivetime.

How long have you been with RTRFM?

Since 1999.

What do you enjoy most about presenting?

Discovering new, weird and wonderful music and then inflicting it upon others.

Strangest experience at RTRFM?

Some of the calls! Definitely get some strange calls…

Favourite RTRFM program/s?

Drivetime! And Out To Lunch and Underground Solution.

What do you do in real life?

Try to not let full time work impede on my social life and general love of music, footy and wine!
