Stu Orchard

Stu Orchard is allegedly a high-school English teacher but is not exactly sure what he teaches the students. He doubles as a singer/songwriter with fading stars in his eyes and triples as a disposable-lighter repairman.

Stu has been listening to RTR for ten years and recently made a spontaneous decision to attack the the studio’s main mic with full force and merciless zeal.

Q & A

How did you become involved?
Simon Kelly interviewed me on Rockin’ the Roots and I told him I was interested in getting into the broadcasting game. It was good timing because I think he was interested in getting out.

How long have you been with RTRFM?
Since the middle of 2008 when I started doing some guest presenting.

What do you enjoy most about presenting?
At this stage, I have only done it once solo and I was so anxious to avoid dead-air that I really enjoyed saying goodbye to the listeners, signing off and taking a breath!

Strangest experience at RTRFM?
Strange is normal round these parts. I didn’t notice anything.

Favourite RTRFM programs?
Full frequency, Giant Steps, Difficult Listening.

What do you do in real life?
Rumble with highschool kids and whiteboard markers in classrooms, throw things at the TV, make fresh beats on my new Mac, play some piano and guitar, fail attempts to sing operatically walking down the street on my own.
