Tizer
Cannae do it?
Yes He Can!
Aptly named after an effervescent, energising and fruity tonic, Tizer is always giving it the full bhoona. A chatterbox yes, but no bletherskite, this guy’s loved by P-town folk as the host of RTRFM show blah blah, vinylinist at countless local haunts including Tiger, Tiger, The Flying Scotsman, Luxe Cocktail Bar & Geisha Nightclub, and as the smiling face behind the counter at the DJ Factory…
He don’t plooter about. When he’s spinning those records he means it, a Tizer set is filled with feats of aural derring-do. He’ll lead you on an unprecedented journey through Latin, funk & soul, to house, trip hop, spooky disco, muscular breaks, and much more. He puts it best himself “Music is both art and science combined. Together they bring a soulful fusion of fine sound”…
Some DJs make the hairs on your neck stand on end. Tizer will batter your fanny liberally with beats you can’t possibly ignore.

Q & A
How did you become involved with the station and your show?
Working closely with Gareth Richardson (dj gear) who would invite me into the studio during his elritmo show, soon after he introduced me to ‘Da Canasta’ who was coordinating Powerjam at that time. That’s when the team took me under the wing and I presented Powerjam for 4years. More recently involved with the world of remixes as Mutation makes its mark on the airwaves & very privileged to be now serving up a Spoonful of Blues in 2011
How long have you been with RTRFM?
Since mid 2007
What do you enjoy most about presenting?
When the clock would strike 1am and you hit the play button to bring in the first track of the Powerjam show knowing that the next 5 hours in the mix was up to you, I would say that there was a certain intimacy that would fill the studio, a sort of magic that I hoped would reach the listeners too. Having a talented guest on one of the shows and giving them some exposure as well interacting with the listeners when the calls come in are also both very satisfying. Looking forward to mixing up some crackin tunes at the Seriously Sound System event in Dec 2011
Strangest experience at rtrfm?
That’s a tricky one because of course nothing strange would ever happen whilst working every Sunday night on the graveyard shift!
Current favourite release?
Track-Bone Snow Artist-Sam Hell Label-Sinister Records
Favourite RTRFM program?
So many excellent shows on RTR and for different reasons, but as well as powerjam, mutation & a spoonful of blues, I would say that elritmo, train wreck & full frequency can really stir my loins!…It was always a privilege to hand the studio over to Peter Barr as he would bring in the first breakfast show of the week.
What do you do in real life?
Electrical Consultant by day but have still enjoyed promoting events & turning vinyl at many quality venues over the years such as The Queens Hotel, Flying Scotsman, Luxe Cocktail Bar, Niche, Double Lucky, Ambar & Geisha Nightclub…Teaming up with the crazy musical genius Billy Wild (TasTyBeaTsTudio) working together on our first album…For many years you would have also found me midweek slurping on black coffee and serving customers at the famous dj factory in northbridge.
