Dead Meadow

Wednesday October 13

At Amplifier Bar

life is noise and RTRFM 92.1 present…

DEAD MEADOW (USA)
NADJA (Canada/Germany)

From 7pm – 11.30pm

This could be the crossover that bridges the gap between metalheads and indie kids, with plenty of Sabbath-esque 70s rawk to make the doom and stoner rock fans go absolutely nutso but also amazing songwriting that lends itself to lighting a few candles or watching the stars as the music flows over you.

Amazing stuff. – DIW Magazine.

Dead Meadow, purveyors of California’s finest psych-rock, make their way to Amplifier on Wednesday, October 13 for what promises to be a rip-roaring evening of reverb-drenched guitar freak-outs and thudding stoner beats.

Forming in the late 1990s over a shared love of 70s hard rock, 60s psychedelia and J.R.R. Tolkien, Dead Meadow have released five extraordinary albums, with their latest offering, Three Kings, being no exception. The release is a CD/DVD package that includes a film interspersing live performance with stunning dream sequences. Dead Meadow’s live show is an intoxicating blend of pounding riffs and slow-burning intensity – an expansive, feedback-soaked, thunderous journey.

It’s also very, very LOUD!!! Bring earplugs.

International support comes from Toronto/Berlin doom-merchants Nadja. This two-piece is a gut-wrenchingly intense barrage of sound, and were rightful described by Pitchfork as a “battering ram of noise”.

With local support from The Silents and Young Revelry, this will be a night of blissfully mesmerising, dirgey rock.

Presale tickets from Moshtix, Mills Records, 78 Records and Planet Video.

$39 + bf/more on the door on the night if available.
