As we head into summer and the weather heats up Magpie swooping season is approaching and snake encounters are on the rise.

The Department of Environment and Conservation wants you to know about the behaviour of native animals as they come out in summertime.

While most native animals are harmless, the department says it’s important to remember they’re only following their natural instincts.
