Transcript
This week, Kath Howard interviews Jennifer Strickland-Munro about her research into the social benefits and impacts on the local indigenous populations of two world-famous national parks: Kruger National Park in South Africa, and Purnululu in remote WA.
Closer to home, Kath also spends a day in Whiteman Park, fighting off the local insect life and tracking down wedged-tailed eagles with nature documentary filmmakers Simon Cherriman and Adam Hermans. Find out just how easy it isn’t to capture on film one of the most exciting moments in nature – a predator making a kill. Then watch the trailer for the movie at http://www.awedgedtale.com/
Finally celebrate National Threatened Species Day (7 September) with a nice walk in the wildflowers, but don’t forget to clean your boots – Phytophthora dieback is one thing you don’t want to spread around. www.dwg.org.au
