Fitzroy Crossing High School is combining Aboriginal language with English as one way to improve its education system.

This is just one improvement with which the Commissioner for Children and Young People, Michelle Scott, is pleased.

She recently visited the remote indigenous community and is happy with how things have progressed.

It’s the Commissioner’s second visit to the region since alcohol restrictions were introduced in late 2007.

Although there’s been positive results from the restrictions she says a lack of adequate services is impacting young people.

Damian Smith spoke with Commissioner Michelle Scott on Morning Magazine.
