With the introduction of the Super Profits tax the mining industry collapse, Rio Tinto will go bust leaving its CEO’s in the dole queue and as the communist dictatorship of Mao Tse Rudd sweeps across the land the world as we know it will end!

At least this is the impression you’d get if you were to listen to the hyperbole coming from the mega-rich mouthpieces of Andrew Forrest and Gina Rinehart.

But in the slight chance that this is not true Indymedia’s Ray Grenfall and Alex Whisson spoke to Tom Barnes, a political economist from Sydney University to get his take on the real ramifications of the Super Profits Tax.
