If you’ve already made up your mind on a political issue, say, asylum seekers, do you think you would change your mind if you heard a piece of decent, sensible, right-thinking that opposed your belief?

According to new US research in the Journal of Political Behaviour, new information has virtually no chance of dislodging our already held beliefs!

So you’d have to ask – what’s the point to all this election campaigning if it’s not going to change anyone’s mind?
