Music can be used as a powerful tool to spark change and bring attention to much needed causes. One in particular, women and violence.
As part of the Amnesity International’s ARTillery event, which gives youth the chance through music and creative arts to learn more about human rights, is a musical event called Against The Beat.
One in three women are victims of violence, a staggering figure which has sparked WA female musicians, to come together for one night in order to raise awareness of this overlooked problem.
On the bill are Boom! Bap! Pow!, Miche Suite, The Belle Ends, Tree and Oh! You Pretty Things, who joined Stacy in the studio this morning to play a live tune, also joined by event organiser Roxanne Moore.
Against the Beat is this Saturday night at Mojo’s in Fremantle.
