The Triffids have been on a permanent hiatus since 1989 but they have been back in the spotlight in recent years.

SBS featured their album ‘Born Sandy Devotional’ as part of their Classic Album’s series. The band have also played a series of concerts including a gig at Beck’s Music Box for the Perth International Arts festival in January 2009.

One such gig played at the Paddington Town Hall in Sydney in 1984 – aptly named ‘The Night of the Triffids’ – has been turned into a film and screened at the Perth Revelation Film Festival.

Dennis Gelding spoke to former guitarist and violinist Rob McComb to talk all things Triffids on Drivetime.
