The Prospect of the greens holding the balance of power in the Senate by mid next year is one that – for some voters – takes the sting out of the tail of having no preferred party on the lower house.

Its an amazing journey for the first “green party” in the world – that grew out of environment movements in the 70’s and 80’s – a party that used to be referred to as “the fairies at the bottom of the garden”.
