The Federal Opposition’s released its long-awaited climate change policy, with a one billion dollar emissions reduction fund at its centre.

Tony Abbott says the plan will be simpler, cheaper and more effective than the Government’s emissions trading scheme and will deliver the same five per cent cut in emissions by 2020.

It’ll also cost 3.2 billion dollars and a whole lot of trees will be planted.

Bex Logan took a closer look at the Opposition’s climate change policy with Atmospheric Scientist and Professor of Environmental Science at Murdoch University, Tom Lyons.
