The use of stimulant drugs to treat children with ADHD has been cast into doubt.
A Telethon Institute for Child Health study’s found that medications like Ritalin and Dexamphetamine don’t necessarily improve the wellbeing or performance of ADHD sufferers.
The long term study tracked 131 children between the ages of five and fourteen.
Learning and Attention Disorder Society of WA President Michelle Toner still believes medication is valuable in the treatment of ADHD.
She and ‘Anne’, the mother of ADHD children joined Meri Fatin on Morning Magazine.
