The Federal Government’s proposed mandatory internet filter is due to be introduced to Parliament this month.
If passed, it could come into effect as early as next year – making Australia the first democratic country to have large-scale internet filtering.
Stop The Filter Perth is a group that’s against the proposed legislation.
They’ve organised a protest, taking place this Saturday in Forrest Place in the city.
Protest organiser Trish Zanetti and Curtin University Lecturer in Internet Studies Dr. Tama Leaver joined Meri Fatin on Morning Magazine.
