Kylie Auldist cooks up a balanced musical recipe weighing somewhere nicely between fresh uncut quality soul and golden era 60s funk. After featuring on tracks with super soulful outfit The Bamboos, Auldist is releasing her individual debut album, ‘Just Say’. While boasting a distinctive, emotive sound the album has all the right ingredients for making huge headway in the Funk and Soul charts. The real treasure of this disc is undeniably Auldist’s natural vocal talent. Her voice penetrates and liberates lyrics while blending perfectly with the rest of the band to produce funk, R&B and soul grooves.

‘Community Service Announcement’ imprints traces of the summertime which carries an uplifting, sun-soaked vibe. The combination of Auldist’s stunning voice and production from fellow Bamboo, Lance Ferguson is sizzling hot. ‘Cut Loose’ delivers a purely funk track which introduces the fiery side to Auldist’s songwriting. Beginning with a very punchy intro this song showcases the singer’s power and versatility. ‘Still Into You’ is a sweet track with a mean groove that features some funky horn play, courtesy of The Bamboos. Auldist shifts gears again with ‘Pretty Things’. An acoustic song which creates a nice mid tempo that once again displays her influential voice. Every track on the album ‘Just Say’ is rich in melody and despite the old school feel, still manages to sound fresh and current.
